Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Study Katta ("we", "us"), operated by Ai Digital Wizard, collects when you use our Android app and our websites, why we collect it, and what control you have. It applies to the Study Katta app, studykatta.com and studykatta.in.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — name, email address and/or phone number when you sign in. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication.
- Profile information — a display name and profile photo, if you add one.
- Support messages — anything you send us by email or WhatsApp.
Information created as you use the app
- Learning activity — tests attempted, answers, scores, time taken, questions answered incorrectly, bookmarks and revision progress. This is what makes mistake practice and revision work.
- Purchase records — for Pro purchases we store the plan, amount, payment reference and expiry date. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details.
- Device and diagnostic data — app version, device model, OS version and crash reports.
- Advertising ID — a resettable identifier from Google Play services, used by our advertising partners (Unity Ads and Google AdMob) for advertising. See Advertising.
2. How we use it
- To give you access to your account, tests and progress across devices.
- To show your results, mistakes and revision schedule.
- To process Pro purchases and deliver what you paid for.
- To send notifications about new tests, current affairs and results. You can turn these off on your device at any time.
- To find and fix crashes and bugs.
3. Services we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share only what is necessary with the services that make the app work:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics) — accounts, content, progress, notifications and crash reporting.
- Razorpay — payment processing. Payment details are entered on Razorpay's own secure interface under Razorpay's privacy policy.
- YouTube — video lessons play through the embedded YouTube player.
We may also disclose information where required by law.
4. Advertising
Free accounts may be shown advertisements, and some content can be unlocked by watching a rewarded advertisement. Advertising is served by Unity Ads and Google AdMob, each subject to its own privacy policy — Unity's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy. Study Katta Pro removes advertisements entirely.
Unity Ads
To serve and personalise ads, the Unity Ads software in the app collects device identifiers (such as your Advertising ID), your interactions with the app and with ads, your approximate location (derived from your IP address, not GPS) and diagnostic data such as device model, operating system and app performance. Unity also uses this to measure how ads perform and to prevent fraud. How Unity handles this information, and the choices it offers you, are described in Unity's privacy policy.
Advertising ID
Ads appear only in the Android app. To serve ads, measure how they perform, limit how often the same ad is shown and prevent fraud, the advertising software in the app (Unity Ads, and Google AdMob where used) collects your device's Advertising ID — a resettable identifier provided by Google Play services — together with information such as your device model, operating system, app version, IP address and how you interact with ads. Depending on your settings, this may be used to show ads that are personalised to your interests.
Your choices. You can reset your Advertising ID, or delete it to opt out of personalised ads, at any time in your phone's settings: Settings → Google → Ads (on some phones, Settings → Privacy → Ads). Once it is deleted, apps no longer receive an identifier for your device and ads are not personalised using it. You will still see ads on a free account, but they will be less relevant.

Note: our advertising integration is currently under review. This section will be updated when that review concludes.
5. How long we keep it
We keep account and learning data for as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal data and learning history, except records we must retain for legal, tax or accounting purposes — such as payment records.
6. Your rights
You may ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, or delete your account and associated data. Email support@studykatta.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. For the deletion steps, and what we keep and for how long, see Account Deletion Request.
7. Children
Study Katta is intended for candidates preparing for competitive examinations and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will remove it.
8. Security
Data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure with access restricted by security rules. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical measures — and we do not store payment credentials at all.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top shows when it was last reviewed. Continuing to use Study Katta after a change means you accept the updated policy.
